Holistic Healing Sessions, your ticket to better health

I want clients to come to me because they desire progress and long term improvement in their healing journey.

Here at Willow Therapies, I do things a little bit differently than your typical reflexology therapiest. While reflexology therapy is always at the heart of what I do and how I work, over the years I have begun to blend other modalities along with ongoing support. Holistic healing is a ‘big picture’ way to look at finding relief from pain and discomfort. Read on to learn more about what to expect from an in-studio holistic healing session.

I want you to see long-lasting, buildable effects.

I want you to experience the most powerful healing support I have to offer.

Holistic Healing sessions are a blend of Foot and/or Facial Reflexology, Facial Massage, Cupping, Gua Sha, Visualization, Sound Healing, Aromatherapy, Epsom Salt Foot Soaks, and Esthetic Skin Care. When you first arrive for your session we will catch up on what you need for the session and agree on the modalities to be used.

In many cases only socks need to be removed, although sometimes I encourage being able to work on the upper chest and shoulders as well.

Sessions will usually start either with an aromatherapy foot soak, scalp massage, or a foot scrub and mask. I make sure you are comfortable in the fully adjustable hydraulic table, and we begin the treatment. All areas that I work on are treated to a hot towel cleanse, whether it’s the face or the feet – or both! Wonderful organic, Canadian skin care from www.hunaskin.com is used during all facial treatments with sensitive skin options available.

Reflexology Therapy is at the core of most of the sessions, as this therapy is a powerful way to switch off the body’s ‘go go go’ mode and switch on the parasympathetic state of rest and healing. This therapy also has a wonderful ability to support specific areas of the body via the nervous system to nudge your body into a more balanced state particular to your concerns, from the inside out. However, I’ve learned other techniques over the years which wonderfully enhance the effects of a reflexology treatment, and in many cases directly target the concern from the outside in as well.

The goal is to transport you to a place of deep relaxation, and start to unlock the body’s natural ability to heal.

I prefer to work in silence during the treatment itself, which gives you as the client time to rest. Many clients fall asleep during their treatments and wake feeling more rested than they have ‘in ages’. I find this place of calm and peace is where the strongest healing happens. Now to get more specific, let’s go over the different modalities that may be part of your treatment.

Reflexology – Based on the theory that specific points on feet, hands, and head are linked to glands, organs, and structures of the body. Application of pressure on these points helps to increase circulation, release tension, and lower stress. With my advanced ReproflexologyTM training I’m also able to target specific hormonal functions to allow for better menstrual health, reduced menopause symptoms, and relieve discomfort from hormonal conditions. I primarily use reflexology, and similar acupressure techniques, on the feet and face.

Gua Sha – This technique uses stone tools, gently ‘scraped’ across the skin. The techniques I’m trained in focus on the scalp, face, neck and shoulders, and are gentle enough that you should not see any bruising or marks as a result. The primary benefits are increased lympthatic drainage and circulation. It also has the effect of defining facial structions, giving a lifted and slimmed facial appearance.

Facial Cupping – This technique uses soft silicone, slid and pulsed over the face. As with the gua sha, these techniques are fluid enough that in most cases no marks or bruising is left. This technique dramatically increases circulation, helping to reduce tension in muscles below. And encourages lymphatic flow. This has the added benefit of a lovely glow even to dull skin.

Facial Massage – These massage techniques are designed to release tension in the scalp, face, neck, and shoulders. While I believe everyone could use a good scalp massage (we hold more tension there than we think), these techniques are great for addressing Jaw Tension, Tinnitus, Neck Pain, and more.

Aromatherapy Foot Soak – This epsom salt soak is combined with aromatherapy to begin to soften and relax your feet and warm your soul and mind as an option at the start of your treatment.

Foot Scrub and Soak – This consists of a sugar scrub followed by a deeply moisturizing clay foot mask. Not necessarily therapeutic but I love to include extra care when I can and it is a wonderful way to start a foot reflexology session. Please request this if you would like it included.

These sessions are designed to address your specific condition in the most effect way possible. However I do notice with clients, that in person sessions alone can only do so much.

Especially since many of us don’t have the time to book ongoing weekly or bi-weekly appointments sometimes needed to make forward progress. I want clients to find long term results, so after each session I supply clients with tools to continue the healing results going forward. This may include the application of ear seeds – small seeds stuck to points on the ear for a week or two of acupressure. And almost always will included suggestions of visualizations, breathwork, movement practices, or lifestyle choices to get the most out of the time working with me.

It really is so much more than a single session. I want you to feel better and I’m here to support you.
